Tip For VoIP Phone Deal
On the day that Vonage floats its IPO, here's a related Voice Over Internet Protocol [VoIP] tip.
Many phone and Internet providers are not resting on their laurels with the likes of Vonage and Skype swiping their customers. According to the NY Times, Vonage (the largest internet phone company) currently has over 1.6 million subscribers. Yet Time Warner, Cablevision, Comcast, Cox and others are quickly gaining ground on Vonage with respect to subscriber base. How are they doing this?
Cable companies are offering bundle packages that include VoIP service, television, and a broadband connection for one low price. This is one of the first bundles of this type.
Usually, one would have to chose whether to bundle their internet connection with either their phone or cable companies. Now, however, you can purchase it all in one package. Check out your local cable company. You may find a great package deal on this emerging service.

Not true. It's almost always cheaper to avoid buying bundled phone service from a major phone or cable company. Look for the VOIP player in your market or choose sunrocket.com, it's difficult to beat.
As with most services like this, it alwasy pays to compare the different alternatives out there. If there is more than one company advertising VoIP in your area, play them against each other to get the best price that you can. It should be worth the few minutes it takes to call back and forth
In doing some brief reading, it seems that most of the experts think that Vonage is going to have a hard time making it on their own. Should be interesting to watch.
