Tip on Getting Satellite TV on Your Computer
There is a lot of talk about how you can get satellite TV stations on your computer. Some services are free; others charge. Not all are legit.
According to the lengthy and detailed discussions on this Cnet forum (), the widely promoted and easy-to-find-online service – Satellite TV to PC – (I'm not going to give you the URL) is a scam.
Yet there does seem to be a way, if you're tech savvy – to watch at least some cable and satellite TV programs online.
TVU Networks has developed a circa-1999 Napster-style program for peer-to-peer sharing of TV content. It's controversial, and was shut down for a while, but it's back. If you're patient with it you may be able to get availability to a large number of channels on the service's Viidoo website. As I write this, I am watching Fox News live and with good quality. The movie selection is limited. At the moment, the only movie channels are from China, so even Western films are dubbed without subtitles. Not much value unless you want to practice your Cantonese.
The screen is somewhat small, but one cool feature is that it shows a live forum discussion in a window next to the TV screen, so you can ask about any problems you're having or get help from other viewers.

I use this program pretty often, and the quality is quite good. There's no porn.
I don't see this "live forum discussion" you mention. Can you tell me how to find it?
