Pack Your Tech Gear in Style
We recently found some smart tips for the well-equipped geek traveler; but what to pack all that stuff in? Here are some bags we've looked at and found to have a good combination of features:
1. EMS Boone Computer Bag: The first backpack we carried when we went camping on our own was from EMS, and we've always been partial to the company's blend of practicality and pricing. EMS-brand gear is often less expensive than comparable brand-name products with little difference in quality. This bag has retro styling and modern features such as a padded laptop sleeve (14 x 11 in.) with pull cord and headphone port
2. We've always loved Orvis' blend of city and country. We carried an Orvis bag to work in Vermont. The onetime fishing gear company has expanded exponentially. This laptop briefcase is a classic blend of Orvis style and contemporary functionality.
3. A decidedly funkier approach is taken by Timbuk2. It's Datadump Day Pack has numerous pockets and zippers, plus it has a rubberized waterproof bottom to keep everything dry if the bag gets plunked in a puddle. It's a CrunchGear favorite.
One more thing: Be sure to bring your laptop with you when you try out these packs; not all will fit your 17-incher.
