Your relationship with your travel agent should be similar to your relationship with your doctor or lawyer. You should be comfortable with him or her and return to the same one when you need his or her services. Here’s how to make sure that you find a quality travel agent.
1) Ask around . Talk to your friends and family, and ask them for recommendations. You can also use internet forums to find travel agents with satisfied customers.
2) In general, most travel agents offer similar travel deals, so the customer is left to choose the professional they feel most comfortable with. Pick a person that gives you the best vibe, and make sure to ask questions about their credentials, services, and anything else you'd like. Don't pick a travel agent who isn't open to questions. 3) Look for a CTC (certified travel counselor certification). This distinction is only awarded after five years of experience, an intensive educational program, and an exam. You should also make sure that the agent is a member of the ASTA (American Society of Travel Agents). This organization ensures that its agents adhere to a strict ethical code.
