Lower energy costs during the holidays, Part I
Every watt counts in the winter months, especially during the holidays when entire neighborhoods and city streets glitter with endless lights. A simple strategy for avoiding total shock when the winter bills roll around each year is moving from traditional decorative lights for the holidays to LED lights.
LED lights last about 200,000 hours, while typical bulbs last only 1,000 to 2,000 hours. They cost a little more at the store, but Consumer Reports chose them over conventional lights after finding that savings will add up as season after season passes and your LED lights are still burning strong.
