Tip On Researching Stock Picks
Purchasing stocks for investment demands considerable research. You need to get to know a company's story well before feeling confident enough in its prospects to pull the trigger on its stock.
One of the most important sources of information about a publicly-traded company is the conference call held with Wall St. analysts following quarterly earnings reports. These calls are veritable gold mines for professional and individual investors alike, providing raw numbers on the company's performance, its strategic planning, and its general outlook on the competitive landscape. The Q & A sessions with analysts can be particularly interesting, as executives are challenged on how things are going.
Until recently, private investors either had to listen to an entire call (when it was made available at all), or purchase a transcript for approximately $75 a pop.
But we at Seeking Alpha now provide free transcripts of more than 400 of the leading companies traded in the US.
So whether you're keeping up on stocks you already own, researching a potential new buy, or simply curious about what Google has to say about their business, take a dive into conference call transcripts -- just enter the ticker symbol of the company into the search box above. You'll see a little box in the corner with the latest transcript for the company, and a link to past transcripts.
You can also browse the latest incoming conference call transcripts, and a list of this week's conference call transcripts. Happy reading!

Sound Money,
What a great service to provide the transcripts for the earnings conference calls from over 400 companies. Another great source is the Investor Relations section of the company web site. They often have the slides and the presentations available to the public. Keep up the good work. I'm going to mention your tip on my educational blog, growyourfunds.com if you don't mind. Thanks again, Larry Stay
I'd like to recommend a piece of software I have been using lately for investment analysis and am quite happy with - Personal Finance Associate by Parcus Group.
Simple to use software with great features incl. budgeting, financial planning, shares valuation, real estate investments analysis etc.
Saved me an amazing amounts of time while looking at the stocks on the web. You enter some basic info ie. profits, margins, capex etc and the program will give you some great measures of the financial performance of the business...if the numbers stack up at the high level you go and consider it without wasting time with every lemon out there.
Definitely check it out at:
