Pharsight Partners with InforSense on Software Distribution in China
Pharsight Corporation (PHST) has signed a deal with InforSense under which InforSense will distribute Pharsight’s early stage clinical development management software in China. InforSense will be responsible for marketing and distribution, as well as end-user training, maintenance and support services. InforSense is based in London, though it has established a Shanghai office. InforSense provides predictive intelligence software to a variety of industries, including healthcare and biotechnology.
Pharsight's software provides pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) analysis and trial simulation, including support for reporting, archiving, and data visualization. Also, Pharsight and InforSense initiated a strategic partnership that will deliver translational research solutions to the pharmaceutical industry. The strategic partnership includes opportunities for product-based collaborations to use biomarkers in clinical PK/PD modeling.
In September, Pharsight signed a definitive agreement under which it will be acquired by the Tripos, a private company, for $57 million. Tripos produces Sybyl, a molecular modeling software package.
