The Honeymoon Is Over: Gauging the Market with an Obama Presidency

I am with LongOil. I hope Obama! is successful, for all our sakes, but I fear he is a suntanned version of Jimmy Carter. Obama! is about to find that there is no longer a "present" button in the Oral, er Oval, Office. He will have to chose from among only Hobson's Choices. It is going to be an interesting four years. I only hope we survive it.

Margaret Kane: I hope your investing is better than your counting. 95 Democrats voted against the bill and 65 Republicans voted for it. Nancy Pelosi is politically tone deaf. She flat out insulted Republicans and then was sullen when not enough of them overcame opposition in her Own party. BTW, Chris Dodd,Barney Frank,Jimmy Carter, and Bill Clinton all have DEEP culpability for for this whole mortgage fiasco. Frank and Dodd both fought off Bush when he tried to rein in Fannie and Freddie when they were headed for the precipice back in 2003.

Thanks for the suggestions. I am downloading a hard copy for future reference. Given all the shameful corruption and dishonesty on Wall Street, OBAMA! may very well be it. I think it was Louis XIV who said: "Apres Moi, Le Deluge"

Three Stocks To Be Held To Infinity and Beyond

The author and other commenters have seemed to fail to account for the steady, insidious advance of inflation. I have been pleased to invest in drip accounts with utilities and industrials like Harris, Questar, Chevron(Texaco), etc. But those nice numbers at the end of the time period must also account for the erosion of inflation.

Computer Sciences (CSC) -- This is a company that was going to be bought, but they passed up the chance. Now I don't want to buy it."
