iPod Sales Only 14.2% of Apple's Q4 Total Revenue

Andy I'm with you 100%. I've been telling people for years Apple is the most underestimated and understood stock and cultural phenomenon. It's the damn analysts - Sacconaghi and Katy, and the rumor-peddling bloggers - who consistently prove they don't know what they're talking about. This is the problem with Apple - not decreasing iPod sales. Until the negative spin and constant focus on rumors decreases the stock will continue to suffer, unfairly, because people believe the garbage rather than the facts.

Apple Rules Teen Segment, but Will It Last?

You think parents don't have any cash and won't buy their kids an iPhone? Have you seen how many nine-year-olds have cell phones? You really don't know much about peer pressure. Apple gear is definitely aspirational - but it's also a generational thing. We have an entire generation of kids who started on iPods and are now moving through the Apple product line. They'll continue to use APple products for years to come. This is just the tip of the iceberg. It started six years ago and will continue for the foreseeable future. Apple probably won't be the next mister softy but Apple is chipping away at the market share. I'm long Apple, of course.

Doesn't matter. One jackass makes a stupid comment and the stock tanks. Everyone ignores all of the current data and forecasts by more skilled analysts. 'Course even Shaw Wu is slightly bullish with buy and $205 target. This woman is a moron and the short sellers who hammer the stock are even bigger morons.

This is the "Ahh haa" moment where people are realizing the significant difference between the Apple iPhone technology and the other devices. Apple will continue to gain market share and increase sales for a long time. Rimm's share will continue to erode while Apple gains.

Geez, you gotta be kidding me. This is a vacuous piece of blogocrap. Why doesn't Dell give away laptops to enhance their desktop sales? Do a component comparison there whydontcha. Look a their prices in 2001 vs now. Dell is a really premium brand, right? You have a weird bit of speculation here. 'why not give one away? ...you never cheapen the brand." Oh, you mean like Dell...? Apple makes good products that more and more people are buying. Apple's economies of scale and value will continue to prevail to determine price points.

Microsoft Gets the Blogging Community

top_tier sez: "no one can say Microsoft listens to its customers more than Apple does." I realized my MacBook bettery life was getting pretty low for being a year old and with about a hundred fifty charge cycles. I have AppleCare and thought I check into what battery replacement would cost. I had a fee battery on my doorstep the next day. I've had probably four other hardware issues over the past five years and Apple responded immediately and to my complete satisfaction. Apple makes superb products that run on a rock-solid OS. The iPhone is just the beginning of yet another Apple revolution. They're not going to overtake Mister Softy but Apple will surely continue to gain market share for years to come. Mister Softy is a Yugo competing against a 3-Series BMW.
