Barak will be a darling among many in Europe, who hate the war and equate the war with anti Americanism. And he will make whatever concessions necessary to garner their love of America again. But there is not concrete evidence that even he has any great love of America.

Barak's decision to pull troops means he has placed a limit on the amount of money he will spend to fight terrorism; i.e. whatever is being spent now (Iraq) is too much and, besides, he says, it is too difficult. If he has to draw the line, it will be on US soil, and not on any other Al Quida focus in the mid-East. And the focus on the war on terrorism will not be his focus "until the planes fly". And, he is locked into this, or else, or else his leftwing Moveon.org support will vanish overnight.

And, with the concession to Iran that he will no longer support Israel as avidly as has Bush, Iran will no longer be a threat in his mind.

Pretty much wraps up his strategy. Peace at last!
