    • What Happens If Microsoft Walks Away from the Yahoo Deal?
Most mega mergers fail. Buying YAHOO is such a big risk when the online business models are changing so quickly. Why wouldn't MSFT sell its online buisness and buy some smaller businesses that it could grow into industry leaders? Why not invest its billions in developing a modern operating system?

    • Value Of ComScore's Data Is Debunked
I haven't looked at the ADP situation, but I've wondered whether its figures are more accurate than the government's. Is the market giving too much credit to the government figures and not enough to ADP?

    • Google’s Killer App for Investors, Consultants and Journalists
      Michael,
Thanks for the link. Umair's post is profound. He's saying ditch the orthodox strategy of hiding information to make markets inefficient because that is taking the informational value out of pricing. Seeking Alpha and Google are giving the markets the tools to make information transparent regardless of efforts to hide it.

      Correct?

    • Can Google Fix Its MySpace Problem With Demographic Targeting?
I'm wondering how useful age-specific demos will be? After all, readers self-select ads that interest them, and those that appeal to age groups attract clicks from those groups and their friends. Shutting grandmas out of baby sites make no sense, for example. And I'm not sure that you can demographically sell music, etc. Geographic demos make more sense to me if you can only deliver your service in designated markets.

This isn't like buying in demo magazines where you pay for page views regardless of whether the customer is interested in the product.

So the question is, are pay per click ads self-selecting demographically based on the keywords used?

Great piece. I assume you follow micropersuasion.com, which has been covering social networking in depth. Also, check out what Capital One (COF) is doing with social networking. I've written about it here:
