  • Dividend Paying Stocks: You Only Have to Be Lucky Once
DUBIOUS you are so right companies that care about their investors pay a small dividend and keep raising it slowly every year. Can somebody tell me why CSCO is dividendless? Maybe share buybacks are more rewarding all those executives that hold share options. What do you think?

  • More Financial Pitfalls Ahead - S&P
HMCCLUNG who was the president for the last 8 years? that crisis I agree with you might have started before Bush but what did he do to stop that greed that was going on for the last 8 years? But again I partially agree with you again because I would blame Greeny (Greenspan) first and secondly Bush. What a fiasco, do we need another revolution? What happened to those fat Cats ( CEOs, board of directors, CFOs,...) ?
I bet you they walk freely and they ll have a better Xmas than the rest of us
and wondering what can we do with the taxpayers money. A good example of this behaviour AIG, isn t it?

  • Cramer's Lightning Round - The Most Dangerous Stock for 2009 (12/23/08)
agree with RICARD ( love that liquor also) Cramer s recos are very dangerous for the uneducated ,emotional small investors. And when you bought something he recommended be ready to get out as soosn as the next morning since he changes his mind not in a matter of days but often in a matter of hours. Yes like any of us he will get lucky but luck is only good for gamblers . It s strange how, very often, people spend more time to save nickels and dimes on a loaf of bread and spend no time at all to buy stocks .
Hard to understand the human behaviour sometimes.

  • TARP Is Bad for Dividend Investors
interesting article, nothing really new by the way, and interesting comments also. The first sentence of JAMAICAN says it all I could not say it better myself. The second sentence of BS DETECTOR is partially right. It s not TARP that s by news for investors but greed because of a lack of regulations or even worse for not carrying out or enforcing the laws and the so few regulations in place. After all capitalism is made for the people in power and the rich people at the expense of the small investors and ,in last ressource, the taxpayers. I wonder how long it s going to last before we all raise to correct this situation. What happened to all those regulators that were in place during this carnage?
They might have resigned , big deal. What happened to those fat CEOs and board of executives that took advantage of the system? What a farce!

  • Fear and Loathing in 2009
enjoyed reading your article, agreed with most of it. I hope you are right with SHLD but I don t share your view here and I hope I am wrong. One last
thing how can you short at the same time gold and the U.S dollar ? Something I do not understand here , would you be kind enough to explain your thought on these actions? I always thought that gold and U.S $ move in opposite direction.Thank you and Happy Hollidays to you and your loved ones.

  • The Antidote to Economic Malaise: A Culture of Collective Mindfulness
it seems that the justicial system we have is inefficient, corrupted , at the service of the rich crooks that can afford the best teams of lawyers in our country. Can you name one CEO, CFO,CFF, members of board of directors
from all those financial institutions that rewarded themselves for their incompetence, for closing their eyes on what was going on, to fatten their bank accounts at our expenses, investors or not. You see the small investors are so impoverished now let s go after everything that is left, the taxpayers of course , the people that spend itelligently, wisely, that don t want to have anything to do with the markets. Poor suckers that we are.

  • The Antidote to Economic Malaise: A Culture of Collective Mindfulness
Yes indeed, like you said, telling everybody you are sorry is not enough .But they take us( the small investor and may I add naive) for
granted with the blessing of the governments, all those institutions
that are supposed to protect the small investors. But once again if they really were on our side it would be the end of capitalism (riches get richer and poors get poorer). All the fat crooks walk freely and we must work until we die.

  • Oil Majors Should Just Buy Real Gold
well I could not say it better than DIEUWER. Gold and oil are 2 different animals and to try to compare both is a big mistake, what might be true one day is simply wrong the next day. Buy both I agree , or just one, but to pretend than oil companies should buy gold or vice versa is kind of odd.

  • My Dividend Portfolio: I Like Beer
I never thought we would be able to grab DEO at less than 50$ and here it is. At this price ,if you don t buy it you ll never buy it . Tell me what s not to like with this company! The eternal bears will of course find reasons to dislike it. All depends if you are buying it for a fast trade or for a long term investment. I am not a day trader so I am buying it without of course of betting the house on it.

  • Some Tech Sector Optimism
    Hello Larry,
great article as usual, a lot of why or why not buy every stock you mention.
What would you think of buying YHOO in anticipation of a MSFT takeover?
If it does happen it would be at a much higher price it is trading today, isn t it? and we would not have to wait too long for a nice gain. What are the chances of the takeover to happen? I know it could only be a guess but what I mean is why this deal would suddenly happen now? Thanking you in advance...
