LDK Solar: When Bad News Is Good

i see nothing wrong with ldk as an investment. of course there are bumps in the road. the economics of global climate change is what should be driving this companies stock price. with a dramatic change in the climate man will struggle to survive. when do the analysts factor this science into their forecast?

Green Investments: Lots of Alternatives, with Big Names for Safety

i think the investment community has to start focusing on man made global climate change and how we are all going to die unless man addresses this reality aggressively. it is not the price of oil or coal. how much is the planets survival worth? what is that economic value? really.

whomever berates al gore and global warming is incredibly short sighted.

Evergreen Solar Shuts Pilot Factory, Takes $25 Million Write-off

the tone is meant to give a false impression. this company is growing. a year ago it was 13 or 18 per share. today much closer to success at 3.5 per share. it all depends on the sentiments of investors and commentators. analysts follow stock price. when in starts going up they will find reason to see the bullish case. until then they are still following yesterdays action. which has been down despite clearly making a bottom.

LDK Solar Lowers Sales Outlook, Delays Factory Plan

here is the good news: Recession and customers who wanted to delay delivery prompted the lower sales, the company said. LDK plans to announce full fourth-quarter and 2008 financial results in late February or early March. customers were incentivized to postpone projects because with the new tax credits in US kick in in 2009 not late 2008. this is the real story . meanwhile there is nothing lackluster about 2009 outlook.

words are chosen intentionally, there is a concerted effort to undermine the equity values of alternative energy companies. the brokers do business for utilities and all other competitors oil , coal , nat gas, ge, on and on. believe me the brokers know who is feeding them their fees. the solars are soooo cheap and now they get sell recommendations. if they had no earnings they should be worth more based on future market penetration potential.

all chinese solars are good bets. they have the support of the chinese government as well. they are extremely depressed. sol resistance at 10, jaso at 10, yge at 10, stp at 16, ldk at 25. plenty of room on the upside.

last week he said gold broke down badly now buy gold. yea i can comment like that also. gartman is all over the map in his reasonings , he pretends to always be correct in his outlook. but his outlook is always what just happened.

Two Calculated Risks Possibly Worth Taking

solar sales are not set to decline but grow by 60% as compared to previously expected 300% if solar prices are halved the growth of overall installations will explode. especially with a goal of 100% renewable clean energy electricity in 10 years. this is the goal regardless of the cost of alternative dirty energy fossil fuels.

Alternative Energy Storage: It's All About Price vs. Performance

al gore doubts nuclear will get legs, his voice carrys alot of influence in a democratically controlled government. you may be correct about nuclear but the powers will not emphasize it preferring the benefits of other less centralized technologies, mainly solar ( a decentralized energy source)

there will be a V shaped recovery, not an L shaped recovery. everyone is looking for the L yet certain groups, solar alternative energy despite temporary slowdown see 60% growth in 2009 vs 2008. i like his LDK choice, Appl and V still interesting Amt seems very good.

Even with lower oil prices Obama has signaled he will invest in solar and broadband.

the investment thesis for solar is compelling. you can emphasize the negative or the positive, the positives far outweigh the negatives, i sense a general shift to more positive in most commentaries. the positives have always been there. now they may be emphasized again.

governments get what they want. obama is not beholden to any one group. his is a grassroots effort. a decentralized support network. he will be able to build the energy infrastucture he has envisioned . count on it and invest accordingly.

Own Gold? Time to Fold

it has been good to own gold this year. stock market way down. bonds cash then gold have done relatively well. i own gold and expect a 5 year performance to exceed many others. also art is a good investment over time. look at my site.
