Wall Street Breakfast: Must-Know Newsby SA Editor Rachael Granby- Bank trio becomes duo. Wells Fargo (WFC) will become the largest U.S. bank by branches with its bid for Wachovia (WB), after Citigroup (C) withdrew from compromise negotiations late yesterday on concerns about the quality of some of Wachovia's assets. Wells Fargo, with a bid valued at $11.4B, expects the purchase to be completed by the end of the year, and denies it will have to absorb assets shakier than originally thought.
- Government considers next steps. As the financial crisis continues to worsen, the U.S. government is considering two dramatic steps to turn around, or at least slow, the damage: guaranteeing billions of dollars in bank debt and temporarily insuring all U.S. bank deposits. The moves, which would mark the government's most extensive intervention to date, are in discussion stages only.
- Credit stays frozen. As frozen credit markets refuse to thaw, the cost of default protection on corporate bonds reaches new global records amid investor concerns the credit crisis will trigger corporate failures as companies struggle to finance their businesses. Interbank lending remains limited, and borrowing from the Fed's expanded discount window continued its trend of setting new highs every week, as the total daily average rose to $420.2B vs. $367.8B last week.

Jim Cramer's Mad Money Lightning Round Picks, 8/9/07
Nastech Pharmaceutical (NSTK): 'I took a lot of heat from the shorts, telling me that I was dead wrong... and they're wrong. NSTK is your speculative play. It has obesity. It has autism. It's got the special nasal way to get delivery for these things... It's got diabetes.'
jturano's reply......
It also has been so over hyped and manipulated that the stock is way back down from August 9th and as usual the shareholders are left in the dust! Some made quick profits, then shorted the stock and now there is weakness in volume and lost interest in the stock! My comments Aug.10th and Aug.11th have become reality!
Jim Cramer's Mad Money Lightning Round Picks, 8/9/07
on NSTK, and a long time period of FDA hurdles to jump over,in the three areas of Obesity, Autism, And RNAI, maybe investors ought to read the set backs that the FDA has given to many Big Pharma companies and Biotech stocks after years of pending phase stages that have recently been reported on. Like WYETH, VPHM, and so on and so on these past 8 months!
This is far from being in the Bag! This isn't even worthy of a speculative buy anymore, it's down right Remote and misleading.
Jim Cramer's Mad Money Lightning Round Picks, 8/9/07
Jim Cramer was right to purchase NSTK on March 16th and the other 18 times he mentioned the stock on the show since that time. Nstk should give you an award for giving life back to the long even if temporary. Except I disagree
with your statements re:Obesity, and Autism with Nastech's chances!
Your as good as your staff preps you and your friends back you on this stock.
In researching Obesity,Autism, and RNAI, I believe in my opinion, that you have over blown the perception of chances nstk will have with future success in these areas. The amount of hurdles Nstk has to jump over will be more than the years you and I have left in our lives combined! The current 100 drugs up for approvals and completed phases by other drug companies
in these three different area, will be announced within 12 months periodically. And Nastech is not on this FDA list!
So in my opinion Nstk recently has defied logic, statistics, earnings, and unwarranted movement upwards while the dow has gone done dramatically
for the first time in 4 years. nstk has defied every investment web sites and
their reports, or rankings to about nstk.
You have a great show but how you picked a turtle to win the race these past 5 months deserves loud applause and a reward by the CEO of Nastech!
Another Disappointing Quarter for Omrix Biopharmaceuticals
Or does seeking alpha only publish what Jim Cramer Touts?
Over hyped over touted over manipulated stock period!
Jim Cramer's Mad Money Lightning Round Picks, 8/3/07
The stock has moved way too much on RNAi hype and very early pre-clinical and Phase I data for big targets such as obesity. They just raised a lot of money, hit the stock price, and they are going to have to do it again in a
year or so at the rate they are burning money. The company will have to
strike a major deal to see a major upside move in the stock. A
marketing deal, that is -- big Pharma does not buy drug delivery companies.
I believe fund managers are taking advantage of 19 Touts by Cramer then
will short the stock and cash in Big time. Maybe not a conspiracy but shareholders are left in the dust all the time!
Their statistics page is a disaster and they have to jump many hurdles with RNAI with FDA, Good Luck, you get what you pay for. NO PRODUCTS!
Jim Cramer's Mad Money Lightning Round Picks, 8/3/07
Yea buy it before Wednesday's dismal earnings report.
You want a good chance of speculation with a company that boasts a better statistics page than NSTK, then buy VPHM. It will do far better in next 10months than nstk.
Overpriced stock nstk compared to sales!
Other companies are doing well in phase trials with obesity and nstk is just what Cramer says"HOPE"
All I know is I HOPE you purchase something else because nstk is not what it appears to be in my opinion!
Earnings Preview: Expecting Good News From Foster Wheeler, JA Solar, Priceline.com, TBS Int'l
You speak about SPC and that they missed expectations 3 x's during the last 4 quarters, but
what about 'NSTK' who I think can beat SPC record to date?
Is everyone afraid to speak about 'nstk' because Jim Cramer has touted 18x's to date since march 16th, 2007
Can't someone stand up and speak out and tell it like it is?
What's different today in earnings compared to 5 years ago with NSTK?
Yet there's 'Hope' according to Cramer.
RNA Interference Stocks: Invest At Your Own Risk
Still waiting for your perspective regarding 'nstk' since you promised last Friday, July 27th, 2007.
Your viewpoint is needed please!
Your article July 16th was crisp and informative.(RNAI)
But 17 Touts by Jimmy Cramer is a bit much on nstk based on your article, don't you think?
I look forward to your intelligent response!
JIMMY T
Jim Cramer's Mad Money Lightning Round Picks, 7/24/07
The market goes down again, and low and behold Cramer Touts 'nstk' again for the 17 time.
Success and Power sometimes leads to ones downfall. And in the case of 'nstk', their past record literally stinks.
Their earnings stink and growth, return on equity, and managements effectiveness is sub par but most important
they're past record with Fda and big Pharma's are disappointing to say the least.
But there Cramer stands on his soap box touting the death out of Nastech.
Why? There are companies far advanced in autism, obesity, and RNAI period than 'nstk'.
Shareholders who bought nstk 11 years ago at $20 dollars are still in the Red!
Shareholders who bought last year at $19 are still in the Red!
After 24 years Jim Cramer are you telling shareholders that this is a fairy tale story in the making?
A complete turnaround for nstk?
A 360 and Fda approvals without any hitches like Big Pharma's get all the time?
Your success & power has gone to your head unless there is something not disclosed, but that would be illegal, right JIM?
Jim Cramer's Mad Money Lightning Round Picks, 7/24/07
Now that the market dropped over 300 points yesterday, Do you think Cramer is officially done TOUTING "NSTK?
I think so, after all in 12 days the rotten earnings report comes out.
And the stock price should rightfully test new lows like I've said for the past
3 weeks. This is one stock shareholders love to suffer with!
Jim Cramer's Mad Money Lightning Round Picks, 7/17/07
As sure as the Dow will retreat 100 points in 60 days, Nastech will test new lows. Jim Cramer says don't buy over $13 dollars per share and he is right.
Wait until the new lows which will come soon after the sell off and earnings reports. That is if you like investing in a company that has disappointed shareholders for 24 years.
Why I’m Not Buying Sun Cal Energy
I RECEIVE E-MAILS DAILY WITH THE SAME KIND OF PROMISE AS THIS PARTICULAR STOCK SUN CAL, AND
I STRONGLY BELIEVE ALL THIS TOUTING AND MANIPULATION IS A LICENSE LITERALLY TO COMMIT A CRIME.
BASED ON YOUR STATISTICAL INFORMATION ON THIS COMPANY, THE SAME RESULTS CAN BE FOUND WITH 100'S OF OTHER STOCKS AS WELL. I READ ON MESSAGE BOARDS THAT FUNDAMENTALS DO NOT MATTER AND THE COMPANY'S STATISTICS DO NOT MATTER, BUT WHEN SOMEONE TOUTS A POORLY RATED COMPANY, WITH EVEN A POOR TRACK RECORD OF 24 YEARS, IT MAKES NO INVESTMENT SENSE AT ALL. RECENTLY EVEN A T.V. CELEBRITY TOUTED A PARTICULAR STOCK 14X'S TO DATE SINCE MARCH. AND YET THIS STOCK'S PERFORMANCE FOR 24 YEARS HAS RESEMBLED THE PERFECT CRIME ON WALL STREET TODAY. MANAGEMENT HAS PROSPERED MONTHLY, YEARLY, FOR 24 YEARS ALREADY, WHILE SHAREHOLDERS HAVE LOST $100'S OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS. IF YOU LOOK AT THE COMPANY'S NUMBERS AND FUTURE PROSPECTS, THE REALISTIC PROSPECTIVE OF AN INFLATED STOCK PRICE AND OVER FINANCED ONE PRODUCT COMPANY, IT MAKES YOU WONDER WHY IS A T.V. PERSONALITY TOUTING THE HELL OUT OF THIS COMPANY OVER 14X'S IN 4 MONTHS.
YES I APPLAUD YOU FOR STANDING UP AND SPEAKING OUT BECAUSE THE LITTLE GUY IS NEVER HEARD!
BY THE WAY THE STOCK I'M REFERRING TO ABOVE IS"NSTK".
Jim Cramer's Mad Money Lightning Round Picks, 6/14/07
STOCK OPENED OVER 5% TODAY WITH NO NEWS, STRANGE? THAT DOESN'T MEAN TRADERS THINK NEW LOWS WILL BE TESTED SOON, DOES IT? CURRENT GROWTH RATE IS -1300% AND QUART. -23 % AND RETURN ON EQUITY IS -46%. THIS YEAR IS A DISASTER FOR EARNINGS AND THERE IS NO REASON FOR THIS STOCK TO GO UP AND MORE LIKELY TO GO DOWN INSTEAD. THERE IS NO NEWS! SO WHEN IT SETTLES BY END OF JULY IT PROBABLY WILL TEST NEW LOWS! THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN INMATES IN PRISON AND SHAREHOLDERS IS THAT AFTER 5 YEARS INMATES GET OUT AND THEY ARE 'FREE'. SHAREHOLDERS ARE WAITING FOR THE GOVERNOR TO PARDON THEM WITH GREAT NEWS! THIS HAS TO BE THE MOST RIDICULOUS STOCK TO OWN OUT OF ALL THAT ARE LISTED ON THE EXCHANGE!
Jim Cramer's Mad Money Lightning Round Picks, 6/14/07
NSTK HEADING TO $10.25 RANGE, NO MATTER HOW MUCH CRAMER PUMPS IT.
SO MANY OTHER BETTER VALUES OUT THERE.
ONE IN PARTICULAR 'ELI' ONLY $2.56
AT LEAST THEY HAVE OVER 300% QUARTERLY GROWTH!
AND YOU' LL HAVE A LARGE PERCENTAGE GAIN ON STOCK PRICE INSTEAD
OF WATCHING NASTECH SLIDE DOWNWARD IN PRICE LITTLE BY LITTLE!
NSTK IS OVER FINANCED AND OVER VALUED IN MY OPINION!
Jim Cramer's Mad Money Lightning Round Picks, 6/14/07
It's going to be a long summer for nstk and in the fall you have more bad earnings reports and a year end disaster earnings report.
Spectacular news would out weigh the Return on equity,
debt, the minus in their bank account and the fact that they are over financed, but you never know. Just like it may snow in the sarah desert, it could happen. If the stock was .96 cents it would be worth a chance but at $11.60 per share with their record no thanks!
