Wall Street Breakfast: Must-Know Newsby SA Editor Rachael Granby- Bank trio becomes duo. Wells Fargo (WFC) will become the largest U.S. bank by branches with its bid for Wachovia (WB), after Citigroup (C) withdrew from compromise negotiations late yesterday on concerns about the quality of some of Wachovia's assets. Wells Fargo, with a bid valued at $11.4B, expects the purchase to be completed by the end of the year, and denies it will have to absorb assets shakier than originally thought.
- Government considers next steps. As the financial crisis continues to worsen, the U.S. government is considering two dramatic steps to turn around, or at least slow, the damage: guaranteeing billions of dollars in bank debt and temporarily insuring all U.S. bank deposits. The moves, which would mark the government's most extensive intervention to date, are in discussion stages only.
- Credit stays frozen. As frozen credit markets refuse to thaw, the cost of default protection on corporate bonds reaches new global records amid investor concerns the credit crisis will trigger corporate failures as companies struggle to finance their businesses. Interbank lending remains limited, and borrowing from the Fed's expanded discount window continued its trend of setting new highs every week, as the total daily average rose to $420.2B vs. $367.8B last week.

Alkermes, Lilly, Mannkind: Inhaled Insulin Just Got Interesting
was quite interesting. I didn't know that there are two programs left to consider. Now that NVO is out and broke their agreement with 'NSTK' on Jan.16th
according to yesterdays press release, do you think
in your opinion that 'nstk' doesn't have any chances left in the inhaled insulin programs?
Even though the stock price is down almost 80% in the past 12 months, you must admit the company has been around for 24 years already and management still keeps filing for shelf registrations and somebody keeps buying it.
Jim Cramer's Mad Money In-Depth, 11/7/07: The Gisele-Cuomo Selloff
PER JIM CARMER NOV.7TH. A WAIT-IN-SEE ATTITUDE WAS ENCOURAGED BY JIM. GIVEN HIS STATUS, T.V. NOTORIETY, AND THE FACT THAT HE MORE THAN TOUTED THIS STOCK THAN ANY OTHER ON HIS T.V. SHOW, WOULDN'T YOU THINK HE WOULD DEEM IT NECESSARY TO GIVE AN UPDATE ON 'NSTK' BY NOW? IT'S 70 DAYS LATER, AND 50% LOWER, AND ARE THE INVESTORS ADHERING TO HIS LAST WORDS STILL? NOT PANICKING? COULD IT BE? OR DID HE ABANDON SHIP AND IS SAILING ONWARD INTO THE SUNSET? IN THE NEXT 60 DAYS THE YEAR END EARNINGS REPORT COMES OUT AND BY THEN THE STOCK SHOULD AND COULD BE AT $2.75. A VALUABLE LESSON AT LEAST SHOULD BE LEARNED BY ALL. THAT T.V. PERSONALITIES AND RESEARCH FIRMS CAN NOT BE TRUSTED PERIOD!

CONGRATULATIONS! JAN.9TH-ALSO RICHARD GIBBONS OF MOTELY FOOL
RECOMMENDED LAST WEEK TO BE IN ASTRA ZENECA VS KG.
Your choice to make a profit and run is fine. And Richard Gibbons opinion is fine with me too. However, I as a novice investor, I look at the fact that KG is a screaming discount of at least 50% Off.
That's nice! It's not a first Tier Drug Co., but it is a second Tier Co.
Ergo, if I was a first Tier company looking to acquire other companies,
I think I would have my sights on a company now at 50% OFF.
Secondly I would think there is more potential upward appreciation on KG VS. AZ. at current stock prices. I also believe more upgrades are to come out for KG now than ever. And long term for the next 12 months I feel strongly that sales, further phase advancements, and unexpected good news will push this stock back up to $18 dollars during the time interim (12 months)
Longer term scenario's with a solid company like KG offers more opportunity to an investor or institutional than people who think small!
Nastech takes a Beating after Experiencing Wider than Expected Third Quarter Losses
If no significant news surfaces between today and March Report, the stock price should be at a all time low. There lies the opportunity at bargain basement prices. And if management can turn the company around and control insider selling to a degree and find partnership once again without having to issue new stock to survive, then and only then they can build on creditability. Complete change is in order, from their management to their Web site design. Improving their statistics should be their number 1 priority for their shareholders.

MORE NEGATIVE NEWS BESIDES:P&G BREAKUP,STOCK PRICE DOWN ANOTHER 50%, AND THE CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER RESIGNED.
OH YEAH THEY DID JUST MENTION THAT THEY HAVE 551 OBESE PARTICIPANTS FOR THE OBESITY TRIAL, WHICH WILL TAKE 6 MONTHS AND PLENTY OF CASH, BUT THE COMPANY IS LOSING MONEY FASTER THAN THE OVERWEIGHT COULD SHED IN POUNDS ALTOGETHER.
THEY DESPERATELY NEED A PARTNER LIKE HUMANS NEED AIR TO BREATHE.

IS THIS GOOD NEWS OR BAD NEWS? MONEY PROBLEMS AHEAD OR NOT?
NEXT-NEWS RELEASE*ALLOWANCE FOR PATENT& RIGHTS! GOOD NEWS OR NOT? Factors that could cause actual results to differ materially from those in forward-looking statements include, but are not limited to: (i) the ability of Nastech or a subsidiary to obtain additional funding; (ii) the ability of Nastech or a subsidiary to attract and/or maintain manufacturing, research, development and commercialization partners; (iii) the ability of Nastech, a subsidiary and/or a partner to successfully complete product research and development, including preclinical and clinical studies and commercialization; (iv) the ability of Nastech, a subsidiary and/or a partner to obtain required governmental approvals; and (v) the ability of Nastech, a subsidiary and/or a partner to develop and commercialize products that can compete favorably with those of competitors.
*ANOTHER WORDS THEY NEED A PARTNER/MONEY!
Since there is rarely an update on this stock since last april 2007 on this site, I deem it necessary to update those who already missed the wedding and are attending the funeral. Someone has to have the guts to speak out, it's our rights to do so under the Constitution. *FINAL THOUGHT! WHY FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS ARE STILL INVESTED IN THIS COMPANY AFTER ALMOST AN 80% DROP IN STOCK PRICE FROM AUGUST 2006 IS ABSOLUTELY
LUDICROUS!

God Told Me The Market Will Crash Soon - Pat Robertson
By example is the true test and I believe God speaks by his actions not by personal conversations. Don't we have enough strife, stress, and
worries currently, let alone down right fortune telling by a celebrity human being of the cloth?
Jim Cramer's Mad Money In-Depth, 1/2/08: A Look Back, A Look Ahead
the finger pointing is inevitable because he is on stage not them. He accepted the position and must
remember, that all eyes are upon him. However, I
believe as he stated, that "you must learn from the past", that himself should slow down a bit and be a little more cautiously optimistic about his statements regarding his stock selections.
Otherwise the factor of health becomes an issue
and can lead to unnecessary stress which can take it's toll on anyone.
So Good luck and have a bull year Jim
P.S. Maybe you should have a panel of experts on your show, like Fast Money.
Seeking Alpha Named Most Informative Investing Web Site by Kiplinger's
You won my award when you acknowledged my comment back in early April 2007. Your response was within days, and I thank you. Moving forward to 2008, I was wondering if your prospective and comments have changed somewhat now that maybe my point wasn't taken serious or not and the results of my comment was more profound than Jim Cramer's intelligence or respect from institutional's. You said "Cramer is smart and is watched by many institutional investors, so we think his stock picks are a valuable resource for us to offer on SA." Since many of his 2007 stock picks didn't do so well, what do you attribute his calls that ended up being mistakes if he is so smart?
I mean my original question was why would he pick, suggest, or Tout 'NSTK' in March 2007. Even after the stock dropped almost 48% to around $8 dollars on Nov.8th, he still suggested a "wait & see' which
has proved to be a mistake once again, now that it is under $4 dollars Dec.30th,2007. You might be right that his smart, maybe smarter than we all know! But SA should not take a stance like a cheerleader when
Cramer speaks solely. Balance and fair prospectives is what your readers need and want. Thanks for letting me once again voice my opinion. All the Best in 2008!

Jim Cramer's Mad Money In-Depth, 12/22/07: (Soon-to-be) High Five
MIRIAM METZINGER
Merry Christmas & Healthy New Year to you!
It is your job to write a summary of Jim Cramer even though Seeking Alpha is not affiliated with Jim Cramer, CNBC, or The Street .com.
Having said that, I have made a New years resolution a week earlier.
I am going to keep a list of all the stocks mentioned by Jim Cramer for the next 12 months. I then will publish either the percent of appreciation or depreciation for all to see.
There have been some good calls by Jim Cramer for 2007 and many bad ones as well. In fact, the phrase Jim Cramer has stated the most for 2007 is"I MADE A MISTAKE" referring to his stock picks. You see the reason I make mention of this is, many novice investors get caught in
the Hype/Touting being over done on his show, and when it hits the pocket of these investors is when someone has to start taking a stand.
The well experienced followers of Mr.Cramer, make money immediately after a Tout and then probably shorting the stock down the road, to make money once again. This seems to be the pattern of 2007 in my observation and in my opinion. There have been some similar articles recently written pointing out the same.
In conclusion, it would be refreshing Miriam Metzinger of Seeking Alpha, that aside from writing a summary of what 'the gospel is of Jim Cramer nightly', that constructive criticism be apart of your report to the millions of readers of SEEKING ALPHA. Just because Jim has had success, is part of a nightly T.V. show, doesn't mean he is perfect or that he is excluded from influencing through his stature, individuals, funds or groups from finding a 'BULL' Market on a individual stock
for profit and is untouchable from a prospective of the law!
POWER HAS A STRANGE WAY OF UNSEATING AN INDIVIDUAL FROM HIS THROWN. HISTORY HAS PROVEN THAT MANY TIMES. FROM PRESIDENT'S TO PREACHER'S, SO DON'T BE SURPRISED OF THE EVENTS THAT MAY UNFOLD!
5 Emerging Healthcare Stock Picks for 2008
Twice in one week you've come up with very interesting Biotech Plays.
I applauded you the other day however an-chore is in order!
May you enjoy and have a 'MERRY CHRISTMAS' and most import of all
a 'HEALTHY NEW YEAR'.
P.S. PROSPEROUS TOO!
Jim Cramer's Mad Money In-Depth, 12/20/07: Band-Aid for Rite Aid
Cramer said he made a mistake.?
Cramer suggests waiting another quarter so that investors can decide what to do.?
If this sounds familiar it does. So far this year Mr.Cramer has been making more mistakes than
correct calls with his stock picks.
This 'Wait & See' attitude seems to be his new phrase of late!
The novice investor keeps getting killed by listening and investing with Mr.Cramer's stock picks. I stress this because he is smart, has a team to fully investigate a company that is by his side,
and yet continues to apologize for making mistakes. It's becoming redundant lately.
Jim Cramer's Wall Street Confidential, 12/20/07: The CEO Must Go
used to make a slight self made feather for his cap
by listening to disgruntled employees which are about a handful, at Morgan Stanley, to deduct and
capitalize on, so that he has publicity. John Mack knows what he is doing, and within 25 days to 30 days I guarantee you this stock takes off big time.
When it does, Cramer will once again have egg on his face. All this signals to me from watching Cramer is that short term the stock pops followed by shorting to make a further profit, if your a cramer follower. Let me be frank, Mid January the financials' take off period.
