Solar Power Will Be Transformational in the Next Decade
Wonderful article. It is obviously a very important concept for our future. More so than just regarding making money on stocks. But in that area, as someone who likes to find companies to buy and keep for a while, it seems hard to buy such expensive companies. My concern is that some private company will come along with disruptive technology and by the time the average Joe knows about it, these stocks will have tanked. If you are in the field, you will recognize it sooner, but if you are not, it is easy to be too late. Buying these stocks now seems like momentum investing. Okay if you know when to get out.

Barney Frank's 'Subprime Relief Plan' May Make a Bad Situation Worse
Socialists like Frank think they can change laws of economics by passing statutes. He is a joke, but the liberals from Massachusetts keep electing him.

No Breaking News Here: Katie Couric Likely to Leave CBS
Couric strikes me as one of the many left leaning socialists in the media that rail against corporate excesses. But she, of course is well worth the
$15 million she receives. She of course earns it.

Not surprised to hear this. Too many rich socialists out there telling everyone to raise taxes for the good of the country.

      Central Banks Have Become Dangerous
Many people have been commenting on this issue for years/decades. It is always interesting to see something that you have known be "discovered" by someone else. And related as if it were new. Only to you is it new. Steve, no one can predict the future. Yogi said it well when he said he did not like making predictions. Especially about the future. Well, since you are now just getting around to the idea of abolishing the fed, when will you see the light on the gold standard, abolishing the IRS and more lassez-faire economics, things that seem so obvious?

Should We Listen to Mainstream Media or Financial Institutions?
I would check on Bill's blog frequently for a couple of years, but after watching most of his diatribes turn out wrong, stopped. He does quickly respond to any criticism with lots of fluff. When you make lots of calls, some will be right.
To quote Cronkite is funny. Besides, I don't know much about Canadian history, where Bill lives, but the US is not a democracy, it is a republic.

Crocs Appears Well Positioned, Stock Is Cheap - Baird
I asked my wife & youngest if kids are still wearing Crocs. (We have 3 kids. 16,14,10). They said yes but there are more less expensive versions, and they are not "hot" anymore. Earnings may have difficulty keeping up. Too bad. It looked like a good buy after reading this article

28/36- Why House Prices Must Fall
Great points but the median income may be skewered. A lot of people are retired and aren't working. They often own their home without a mortgage. What is more important is what is the median income of people who buy homes, who use a mortgage, compared to the price that this same group pays. Perhaps one can not get that data, but one has to be careful with medians that one is using the correct denominator.

Retail Sales Declining: Consumers Finally Cutting Back
I think we are due for either a large correction in the economy or a long period of no growth. The Fed is not the answer. Low rates can make debt easier. But at the cost of inflation. When people or nations borrow to spend, it is only common sense that it can not last. If you are in a lot of debt, you may want to have hyper inflation to devalue it compared to income. That is true of governments and citizens
